This month’s travel photo gallery

June’s photo gallery comes from the archives, from my trip to Tanzania in Africa back in 2007. During this trip I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Visited the Massi and toured the Serengeti by safari.

Africa travel photo guide

Taking photos up Kilimanjaro was tough. Every night I had to sleep with the camera battery against my body as the extreme temperatures sapped the battery power. One morning there was ice on the lens of my DSLR which wasn’t good. Down the mountain and there was the opposite problem. Taking photos in extreme head and humidity were equally bad. Photographing the children of Tanzania was fantastic. The kids love to pose for the camera and do all kinds of tricks. Watch out for those wandering hands though – not only do the kids like to pose, they also like to grab the camera by the lens!
