Today is a bank holiday in Rio, so there isn’t much going on except sunbathing and relaxing (as well as drilling of course – there is always someone drilling on a bank holiday!) It’s given me a good chance to catch up on some pictures from around the world which I thought I’d share.
As one of my favourite countries in the world, I was saddened to hear of the volcano and then the storm which hit Guatemala this week. Boston.com always have some incredible pictures of current events and this weeks gallery of Guatemala pictures are no exception. I’m sat in Rio de Janeiro Galeao International airport about to board my final round the world flight – home. I can’t believe its five months since I left the UK. That’s 158 days i’ve been on the road. I also can’t believe I’m leaving 28 degree Brazil for 2 degree England. Well at least I’m not off to Estonia. It’s been -31 most nights for the past few weeks – so cold the Gulf of Finland has frozen!
It’s hard to sum up what a trip it’s been – I’ll need a few days (or weeks) to fully get my thoughts together, but one thing is for sure – it’s been the trip of a lifetime!

Hello again!
On Septmeber 2nd 2009 I will embark on the trip of a lifetime. I will be travelling from the UK to the UK again via 4 continents and 23 countries. Between then and February 2010, I will begin to populate my blog again with my thoughts, experiences, pictures and videos for you all to enjoy the experience with me.
