In the far south east of Brazil, and located 1000m above sea level, Curitiba is one of the coldest and wettest cities in Brazil. Don’t let the weather put you off however. Curitiba is one of Brazil’s most developed cities – with remarkably clean streets, a very efficient transport system with little pods as bus stops, and many beautiful markets, shops, theatres and buildings of interest – not to mention Curitiba’s parks. Curitiba has some 80 parks, all with unique buildings, wildlife and design. We visited one near the Modern Art Gallery which has a replica Polish house to commemorate the Polish immigrants in the city. There is a similar Ukrainian cultural centre in another park and one park even contains a university.
